Bewitching Bees – Sweet!
One third of the food we eat is directly or indirectly dependent on honeybees or pollination. If bees were gone, U.S. agricultural production would lose 20 billion dollars a year, with all the fruits, nuts, seeds and dairy products dependent on bees.
The “man to talk about bees” is Randy Oliver, back by popular demand from the 2006 lecture series. How are bee population levels? Is our food supply at risk? Heard on national television and a celebrated speaker at conferences on bees and pollination all over the world, Oliver is on the cutting edge of a movement to promote natural or non-chemical beekeeping.
Oliver will talk about the shifting paradigms of the beekeeping industry, and will open up the fascinating world of the bees, their physiology, morphology, and how bee survival is affecting world food supply.
Randy Oliver
Randy Oliver has turned a childhood passion about bees into a profitable beekeeping venture and become a mentor to thousands in his classes all over Northern California.
Honey bees are experiencing problems around the globe. Randy keeps a finger on the pulse of current bee research worldwide, as well as performing his own trials. He then digests the information into usable practical advice for beekeepers everywhere.
