Hydrogen Economy in our Future?
As gas prices soar exponentially as the climate gets warmer, more people are looking at alternative fuels sources. March brings us the preeminent expert on the hydrogen economy as well as other advance vehicle options.
Joshua Cunningham is program manager of the Sustainable Transportation Energy Pathways (STEPS) Program at the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS-Davis), a leading contributor to industry, government and public understanding on the comparison of alternative fuel pathways.
The STEPS program is a major collaboration between ITS-Davis, state, national and international government agencies, and international energy and automotive companies. Our audience last season asked for information on hydrogen and cars of the future and we are delivering the best the region has to offer! Do not miss it!
Joshua Cunningham
Prior to working at ITS-Davis, Cunningham was a systems engineer at UTCFuelCells working on transportation applications. This work included system development on several projects, including the current AC Transit fuel cell bus and the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle.
His education credentials include a master’s degree in Transportation Technology and Policy (TTP) from UC Davis where he focused on fuel cell systems modeling research, and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
Cunningham is also an ENO Fellow, having been chosen to participate in ENO’s Transportation Leadership Development Program in May of 2000. Additionally while in graduate school, he received fellowship funding from Chevron, and the US DOE Graduate Automotive Technology Education (GATE) program.
